Pride Inside

Client: Pride Inside was founded during Pride of 2020 by my friend, AJ Clauss, and I. Pride events had been canceled across the U.S. due to COVID-19, but we knew we had to keep the festivities alive. Queer joy finds its way to the surface no matter what.

The Challenge: Raise money to support LGBTQIA+ organizations by selling an original product meant to commemorate the feeling of Pride and have it shipped directly to people for a stay-at-home celebration. We had roughly three weeks to gather products and collaborators, and then spread the word. This timeline also included web copy, and email/social media blasts. 

The Solution: After conducting a focus group and heavily researching affordable product possibilities, we created an affordable, deliverable box filled with a curated experience to keep someone company for the entire day. Through social media posts, email campaigns for donations, and a brand-new website, we launched our idea into the world.

 

The Result: We sold over 100 boxes. A small percentage of the box sales recouped product and assembly costs with 100% of what we raised split evenly among six wonderful organizations: $3,000 total or $500/each. Inside the box were ways to paint your face/body, treats inspired by the Stonewall Inn, a pack of hand-painted Queero Cards to commemorate queer heroes of the past and present (artist: Mx. Brit Whitmore Weildon @MxBrit), a queer book recommendation list, write-ups for each organization and more...like so much more.
